APOLLO BEACH, Fla. – Hundreds of community members enjoyed the first-ever Dragon Boat Festival held at MiraBay. Boats raced throughout the day while residents watched with excitement on-land from Shell Cove, from their scenic backyards and from spectator boats in the lagoon.
“Incredible views and water activities are what attract people from throughout the country to MiraBay,” said Pam Parisi, marketing director at Newland Communities. “This event was a great success and the community members are looking forward to future races.”
About six teams participated in the day’s events, each manned by a crew of about 20 paddlers. Residents of MiraBay were especially thrilled to cheer on the the MiraBay Dragon Boat Club team that was composed of MiraBay residents and staff.
